WHEN WOMEN WERE WOLVES
10 DAY SHAMANIC DIMENSIONS & RE-WILDING CONTAINER
UBUD 16th - 26th, 2025
Set amidst the green rolling hills and cascading rice-fields of Ubud, BALI - Eclectica Hub invites you to join us on our 10-day When Women Were Wolves Retreat – a transformational experience to guide you back home to rest in your intrinsic nature. This Retreat is an activation of your female intelligence through the exploration of somatic arts, ritual, visionary dance, and embodied practices that will connect you to your intrinsic way of thriving beyond the domesticated aspects of the human psyche.
When Women Were Wolves Bali Retreat is a gentle yet profound coming home to your true, authentic nature — reclaiming the sacred aspects of female intelligence that have been stigmatised, suppressed, and forgotten in modern society.
This work seeks to awaken and ripen the heart of the inner medicine woman by deepening our connection to the subtle, unseen realms of existence. Through this process, participants are invited to explore their relationship with primordial forces, such as the elements, honouring them as respected elders and ancient ancestors. Deepening this relationship with these forces innately connects and tethers participants to the web of life and the cycles and spirals of existence. Together we will explore the landscapes of death, decay, renewal, and rebirth, honouring these phases as intrinsic seasons in our evolution.
Participants will also be guided to connect with various animal archetypes, tapping into primal wisdom and the unique teachings of the animal kingdom. These animal allies will serve as guardians and guides, connecting participants to expanded perspectives through the lens of eldership and primordial knowledge.
The journey will be enriched by sacred feminine practices woven into intentional choreography, merging movement with meaning, exploring the ancient art of storytelling. Over the course of 10 days, we’ll move between ceremonial practices, rites of passage work, and embodied expression, culminating in a powerful “prayerformance” that honours womb-centric living, feminine reclamation, and ancestral reverence. This performance transmission will be shared at a special event in Ubud on the final day, celebrating the transformation we’ve cultivated together.
Join us in this powerful movement that honours the sacred feminine and the deep connections that bind us all.

Over time, we have seen the feminine instinctive nature looted, driven back and overbuilt. To re-wild is to a restore a habitat to its former wild state, so that it can take care of itself again, restoring its own natural processes.
When we choose to re-wild, we remember the primordial ways of existing in the deepest state of somatic symbiosis. We allow nature to be woven back into the web of our being, offering us a rich engagement with life that is ancient, and deeply connected to the natural world.
When Women Were Wolves is a primal declaration of the feminine spirit presented by Eclectica school of Womb-Craft and Visionary Dance.
A transformative 10-day retreat that offers you the tools and resources to undomesticate your psyche and restore your body’s natural state of homeostasis and inherent wildness.

Creatrix, Feminine Empowerment Facilitator, Deathwalker, Cyclical living coach & Rites of Passage Ritualist
Alana Woodward is an imaginative soul who is here to re-enchant you with your own creative magick.
A self professed nerd, Alana has spent the past decade training in various modalities to continue unlocking deeper levels of radical self expression in herself and others. Along the way she has become a Somatic Education Facilitator, Menstrual Cycle Coach, Archetypal Embodiment facilitator and is currently deepening her craft in Death Doulaship and Herbalism.
A lover of imagination, transformation, and the taboo - her facilitation often weaves themes of archetypal medicine with mythology, death work, eroticism, women's mysteries and ritual healing. Her workshop and retreat offerings this year have expanded into facilitating journeys in deep ecology and elemental alchemy, woven together with an animistic perspective.
Coming from a traditional conservative Sri Lankan family, Alana holds particular medicine in breaking ancestral chains tied to the suppression of asian and coloured feminine expression. She is no stranger to the underworld and shadow work, having journeyed deep to find her own keys in liberating women's erotic expression, body reconciliation, healing sexual trauma, and navigating the mother wound.
Alana has been co-creating and performing closely with the Eclectica core troupe for the past 8 years, spreading their magick across stages in Australia and around the world. She has been facilitating across the Eclectica school and prior courses for the last 5 years. This is her second time co-facilitating Eclectica's When Women Were Wolves retreat in Bali and she is so grateful and excited to return once again.
A long term burner and devotee of the transformational arts festival scene, you can find her in her happy place twirling in the dust to some filthy bass.

WHAT IS VISIONARY DANCE?
Visionary dance is the integration of prayer and intention through movement. It is a bridging of realities and consciousness, portraying a wider vision of awareness, hope, healing and transformation.
It is medicinal movement rooted in the ancient art of storytelling, an experience that is equally compelling for both those participating and witnessing.
It is this foundation that sets Eclectica's dance offerings apart from traditional 'performances' - We don't offer performances, we offer transmissions, rituals of the soul that bridge the spirit and mind.
Through weaving psychedelic visual displays, a diverse fusion of dance genres, and raw embodiment- each transmission is a ceremony from start to finish.
One that is always deeply unforgettable, and deeply received - opening our audience's hearts and minds to experience greater possibility and freedom.
